Sensational South African singer, Tyla has clinched Billboard’s Top Afrobeats Artist 2024 award after beating Nigerian heavy weights, Burna Boy, Rema, Tems, and Asake to it.
The singer, who gained worldwide recognition after releasing her hit song ‘Water’ in late July, continues to rake in all accolades in Afrobeat, emerging winner of the category at the event last night, December 13th.
Tyla also secured the Top Afrobeats Song award for her global hit “Water,” surpassing Adam Port & Stryv feat. Malachiii’s “Move” and Tems’ “Me & U” to take home the honour.
The rising star, who has been gaining international recognition with her chart-topping single “Water,” has achieved numerous accolades this year, including the inaugural Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance in February 2024. At just 22 years old, Tyla became the youngest African artist to ever win a Grammy.
