Nigerian footballer and forward Paul Julius Goewam has been pronounced dead in a tragic motor crash that occured in Cyprus.
The 20-year-old was reported to have had a head-on collision with another vehicle travelling in the opposite direction on the Paralimni-Protaras road, near Pernera. The driver of the other vehicle is a 74-year-old man who is also currently being treated but not in a critical condition.

Paul Julius played ATTACK centre forward for Tala’ea El Gaish Sporting Club, Cairo before his recent transfer in July (2024) to Enosis Neon Paralimni Football Club in Cypriot.
His club has expressed deep sorrow at his unfortunate passing and have described him as a determined and steadfast player who faced despite the hardship he faced before joining the club was committed to fufilling his goals.
A statement released by his club reads:
“The entire family of E. Ν. It is with a heavy heart that P bids farewell to our team footballer Paul Julius who was so unjustly passed away yesterday morning following a car accident.
Paul has been an impeccable young, great footballer with high goals and ambitions.“Paul, you will always be remembered and in our hearts, even though the days you were with us were few.
