A 33-year-old man, Akeem Owonikoko, taken into custody on suspicions of armed robbery in Ogun State, has implicated an Inspector of Police, referred to as Ola, as the individual who supplied him with arms and ammunition.
The arrest occurred along the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode-Benin expressway on Sunday and was executed by officers from the Ogun State Police Command.

Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, provided details in a statement to the press. She revealed that Owonikoko’s arrest was the result of a meticulous 24-hour operation spearheaded by the Ijebu-Ode Area Commander, ACP Omosanyi Adeniyi.
During his questioning, Owonikoko allegedly confessed and identified Inspector Ola as the source of the weapons utilised in their operations.
