Elon Musk listed the levels of accounts and their corresponding limits stating that newly opened unverified accounts can now only read 300 tweets per day while Unverified accounts and verified accounts will only be able to read 600 and 6000 tweets per day.
According to the tech giant, he says this is to curb the extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation.
See his tweet below:
To address extreme levels of data scraping & system manipulation, we’ve applied the following temporary limits:
- Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts/day
- Unverified accounts to 600 posts/day
- New unverified accounts to 300/day
In reaction to this new Twitter development, various accounts, most especially the ones who subscribed to the Twitter Blue tick say this condition was not explicitly stated before their subscription.
See some of the reactions below:
MrBeast says: “Brb, gonna see how long it takes me to look at 6k posts”
shuffy@aschiefelbein9 says: “The app would implode”
Mau Plascencia ☾@MauPlascencia says: “So what happens after our limit is reached? Does the app like explode or something 😐”
Carlos Maslatón@CarlosMaslaton says “Elon, please define the term “reading”. In any case let me manifest, as a verified account, that I’m totally against your decision.”
Dr Dípò Awójídé@OgbeniDipo says: “Elon, hire professionals and pay them for the job they do. There should be no limit to the number of tweets I read daily. You didn’t give me this condition when I subscribed to Twitter Blue.”
