Even though the English football team Liverpool has struggled in both the Premier League and the Champions League this season, they managed to beat their archrivals Manchester United 7-0 on March 5.
United have not won at Anfield since Louis van Gaal was manager in January 2016, when Wayne Rooney scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory. Erik ten Hag’s team resumed to Premier League play with a trip there.

A resurgent Mo Salah and Cody Gakpo, once a transfer target for Manchester United, inspired Liverpool to a 3-0 victory against United on Sunday.
Even though United had more of the ball and was more effective while in control, Cody Gakpo scored with seconds remaining in the first half on a superb individual effort.
United’s poor play continued till the start of the second half when Nunez doubled the lead for Liverpool with a close-range header. Three minutes later, Salah mocked United defender Lisandro Martinez by playing in Gakpo for another elegant goal.

Salah also found the back of the net, capping off a quick counterattack with a powerful shot that sailed over De Gea’s head. Nunez added to the thrashing with a second header goal, this time off a cross from Jordan Henderson.
Then, in the sixth, Salah scored on a breakaway to overtake Robbie Fowler as Liverpool’s all-time leading scorer in the Premier League with 129 goals. In addition to being Liverpool’s all-time leading scorer versus Manchester United with 11, ten of those goals have come in his past five meetings with the Red Devils.

Befittingly, Roberto Firmino, who has confirmed he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, made it 7-0 from close range to cap off a spectacular game.
With just three points behind Tottenham with a game in hand, Liverpool is in the thick of the fight for a Champions League berth.
