The Osun State Gubernatorial Election Petition Tribunal has invalidated Governor Ademola Adeleke’s win in the July 16 governorship election of 2022.
This was said to be because of claims that people overvoted at some polling places around the state, which has now led to Adeleke’s firing.

The three-person panel presided over by Justice Tertsea Kume, rendered the verdict.
By a vote of two to one, the tribunal ruled that the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, should revoke Adeleke’s Certificate of Return and instead award it to former governor Adegboyega Oyetola.
The Chairman, Justice Tertse Kume, read the majority decision, which said that Oyetola received the majority of the legal votes—314,931—against Adeleke’s 219,666.
