Nigerian singer and newest Grammy winner in town, Tems has expressed gratitude and praised God for all He has done for her.

Tems won the recently held Grammy Awards’ Best Melodic Rap Performance category by defeating the other nominations. She won the prize for her contribution to Future and Drake’s popular song Wait For U.

She, therefore, joins the likes of Wizkid and Burnaboy to be named among the very few home-based Nigerians who have won a Grammy award.

A brief bio on Tems

The celebrated singer, Tems is a fantastic recording artist and also an amazing songwriter, a strong vocalist from Nigeria. She has a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most promising young performers thanks to her distinctive style and alluring voice.

She is also well-known for her thought-provoking lyrics and strong vocals, and her music, which combines elements of Afrobeat, Afro-soul, and R&B, has won her a lot of accolades.

Temilade Openiyi or simply Tems won her first Grammy at the just concluded 65th Grammys for Best Melodic Rap Performance with Future and Drake.

Tems first gained fans’ attention in 2020 with the release of her smash track “These Days,” which consequently was an immediate hit in Nigeria and elsewhere.

Since then, she has grown to become one of the most important figures in African music.
