Augustine Eguavoen, Nigeria’s interim coach, has been crowned the best manager in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations group stage by the Confederation of African Football.
After the group stage of AFCON 2021, CAF published on its website that its Technical Study Group had shortlisted the Best of the Group Stage.

He was awarded for winning the three matches at group stage.
Eguavoen-led Nigerian team have been outstanding at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
Apart from Eguavoen, others who bagged awards are:
Surprise Team: Comoros
Revelation Team: Equatorial Guinea, Gambia
Best Player: Vincent Abubakar (Cameroon)
Best Scorer: Vincent Abubakar (Cameroon)
Augustine Eguavoen, the coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, has expressed gratitude to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the award.
the former Super Eagles defender will be hoping to lead his team to victory, When the Super Eagles plays against Tunisia in the Round of 16 on Sunday.
He wrote on his Twitter post;

“The Best coach of the Group stage.
“Wouldn’t have been possible without my fantastic group of players and colleagues.
“Thank you Nigerians, for your support. It’s needed now, more than ever.”
