The All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Tinubu, has been proclaimed the winner of Saturday’s presidential election by the Independent National Election Commission.
After days of collation of data from across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Tinubu polled a total of 8,794, 726 votes, according to the Commission’s Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, who revealed the official result at precisely 4.10 a.m. Wednesday, March 1.

His closest challenger, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, received 6, 984, 520 votes, while Peter Obi of the Labour Party received 6, 101, 533 votes to finish third. The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPPRabiu )’s Kwankwaso has 1,496,687 votes.
The Certificate of Returns for Tinubu and his running companion, according to Mahmood, will be released by 3 p.m. today, March 1.
